How to delete cookies

If you notice your Internet browser acting sluggish or your computer performance dropping, it's likely due for a cleanup. Windows 7 includes a Disk Cleanup utility that deletes temporary Internet files, security logs and event logs, as well as offline webpages. Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer each store small text files about the websites you visit, such as user names and passwords. These files, called cookies, slow down your computer if enough of them accumulate. Spyware and malware can also exist as cookies.
